About the IT Challenge
The DMUK Computing Challenge is a two-round competition for school students to showcase their computing knowledge and problem-solving skills. Round 1 is an online test, where participants have 60 minutes to complete 40 questions covering the Essential IT Skills, using formats like multiple choice, true/false, and short answers. Round 2 will be held on campus and consist of a two-hour portfolio creation task, where students build a single-page website

Question Format Multiple-choice, multi-select, true/false, and fill-in-the-blanks questions are designed to test both theoretical knowledge and practical understanding across various computing disciplines.
Portfolio Web Page Creation Participants create a single-page portfolio website using Carrd.co to showcase their problem-solving approach to a given challenge. Key Features:

Assessment Criteria:
Problem-Solving Content & Concept Clarity: 40%

Eligibility for participation in this tournament is limited to final-year school students (Grade 11) and final-year college students only. Participants must demonstrate an intention to apply to the IT Faculty at De Montfort University Kazakhstan and possess English language proficiency at a minimum level of B2.
Scholarship Awards
The 35 most talented and successful participants of the competition will be awarded partial tuition scholarships ranging from 30% to 50%. Scholarships are granted on the basis of competition results.
50% Scholarship - 5 spots
TOP-5 participants with the best results and scores will be awarded 50% scholarships for the entire period of study at DMU Kazakhstan Computing Faculty
40% Scholarship - 10 spots
The next 10 participants will be awarded 40% scholarships for the entire period of study at DMU Kazakhstan Computing Faculty
30% Scholarship - 20 spots
The next 20 participants will be awarded 30% scholarships for the entire period of study at DMU Kazakhstan Computing Faculty
